Mr. Theunissen is a Sydney-based solicitor with almost 30 years of corporate and commercial experience in areas including commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, the Corporations Act, and ASX Listing Rules. He has advised on major commercial transactions in Australia, as well as assisting with the Australian aspect of international transactions. His extensive legal expertise in corporate and commercial matters includes shareholder agreements, joint ventures, capital raisings, management buyouts, service level, supply and distribution agreements, terms and conditions, tender documents, corporate governance, and directors’ duties. In addition to corporate and commercial law, he has specific expertise in the financial services industry—setting up financial service businesses in Australia including funds management, market making, and non-cash payment providers, licensing requirements and procedures, ongoing compliance advice, and general advice on Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act. Mr. Theunissen is regularly involved in professional activities, presenting courses at Kaplan (formerly the Securities Institute of Australia), the CLE Centre, and the College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of New South Wales.
